ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

What are the admission requirements?

With 6 months to master a broad range of topics in fashion design and illustration, Our course is designed to follow a rigorous instruction and assignments schedule.

Potential students are therefore strongly advised to be ready to commit fully to a highly demanding course.

We especially look out for individuals who are passionate about fashion, self-motivated, and willing to learn. While we remain committed to providing needed direction, we expect our students to posses high levels of emotional maturity and intelligence, and be able to produce results in a challenging and extremely competitive environment.

In order to guarantee an admission, a prospective student will have to fulfil the following:

  • Should be aged between 15 to 50 years.
  • Provide proof of qualification in all circumstances (WASSCE as minimum).
  • Show determination to undertake course and undertake the aptitude test and qualify.
  • Should be ready to learn under strict conditions in terms of complying to the corporate culture of the atelier. (Kindly refer to the corporate culture guide)
  • Prospective students must have clean records both in terms of behavior and general posture.
Can my admission be denied or withdrawn?

Admissions may be denied in situations where management believes that a student’s character or behavior is not in tandem with the core values of the institution. This may even be applicable months after classes have started. Students in such situations may have a pro-rated amount refunded to them.

What happens when am being denied admission?

You will have to try again until you are able to meet the standards of the institution.

How much is the fee and do I have to pay in full before I can start the course?

The fee is Four thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC4000.00).
Payment can be made in two installments: (GHC3000) at the beginning of the course and the balance (GHC1000) at the beginning of the 2nd month.

How can I get the forms?

The forms can be found on the website, just click on the ‘APPLY’ button on the website or follow the link here.

When is the application deadline?

Applications only end when we have received the total applicants we require for a stream.

Can I register when lessons have already started and will I pay a penalty if ‘yes’?

No, late applications will be recorded for the next academic stream.

Is there an application fee?

No

What other courses can I apply for aside fashion design?

There are no other courses to apply for at the moment except for Fashion Design.

How do I submit proof of my qualifications (WASSCE certificate or others)?

They could be scanned and attached to your application form.

Can I change the information in my application after I have clicked submit?

No

Is there an age limit for applicants?

Applicants should be aged between 15 to 50 years.

ACADEMICS INFORMATION

Will I be able to know everything about sewing in six months?

Our 6 months course has been structured in a way that each student is able to understand and become an expert in clothing and construction, color and design and pattern drafting at the end of the course.

Do I have to bring along the items mentioned in the prospectus when am enrolled?

Riohs has provided the required logistics for students to learn with in the atelier but students are required to buy the items listed in the prospectus to help work at home.

What certificate does one get after training at Riohs?

Riohs Originate is a Creative Art Service and Training Company and companies do not award degree and diploma certificates. You shall however be awarded with a merit based certificate to seal your course completion.

Is the attachment done in or outside the institution?

You are required to do your attachment with the institution.

Does the weekend class include Sundays?

Weekend class is only scheduled for Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

What is the duration of the course?

It is a six months course with three months’ attachment.

Do I need any experience to be able to enroll?

The only thing we require from you is the passion for fashion, and basic academic requirements.

In case I miss my class in the morning, can I join the evening class to catch up?

Since every class has a unique lesson plan and a specific number of students assigned to individual equipment’s, it is not advised but at extreme cases, it will have to be discussed with the instructor in charge ahead of time.

Is there a dress code?

There is no dress code but generally, each student is prohibited from wearing clothing that exposes underwear or body parts in any indecent manner for that matter to disrupt the orderly learning environment.

ACCOMODATION INFORMATION

Do you have hostels?

No we do not have hostels. Our international students usually look for hostels themselves. The institute will be willing to assist in directing you to locations where hostel facilities are available.
